Guessing games is a game to guess a thing, person or place, the one of student or group mention the clues and other students as a guesser guess that thing, person or place. Guessing game becomes an interesting technique which can be implemented by English teachers to teach speaking. Besides,guessing game can help teacher to hire students’ participation and students’ courage in teaching English.

Os xogos de adiviña son xogos nos que unha persoa ou grupo de persoas ten que adiviñar unha cousa, persoa, animal ou lugar a través de distintas pistas. O xogo de adiviñas é nunha técnica interesante que os profesores de inglés poden implementar para traballar a habilidade de falar. Ademais, o xogo de adiviñas pode axudar ao mestre para fomentar a participación e o interese dos estudantes.

New resource “What I am?“
This last week we were playing with a new guessing game resource about animals in Level 3 and in Level 5. This is a set of animal cards we use to practise questions such as:
Is it…..?
Can it ….?
Has it got…?
Does it live ….?

A semana pasada estivemos a xogar cun novo xogo de adiviñla sobre animais en 3º e 5º de Primaria. Este consite nun set de cartas que empregamos para facer preguntas como Is it…?;Can it…?; Has it got…?; Does it live in…?.
How to use a guessing game?
The teacher could implement this technique in several steps starting from making group, setting the students to discuss, making them present in front of the class by giving clues, and making the other groups guess what the speaker meant.
In the first lesson, we started playing in a whole group. Firstly, we reviewed the vocabulary related to abilities through a TPR activity in Level 3 and a brainstorming in Level 5 trying to remember the vocabulary related to actions, adjectives, habitats or parts of the body.
Na primeira sesión, comezamos xogando en gran grupo. En primeiro lugar, revisamos o vocabulario relacionado coas habilidades a través dun xogo de TPR en 3º e cunha choiva de ideas en 5º para refrescar o vocabulario relacionado coas accións, adxectivos, hábitats e partes do corpo.





Then, in turns, a player put a color headband on the head. Then, one in the class had to close the eyes and selecte a card from the pile, and give it to the player, who helped to fix the card in the headband. The player had to guess the animal by asking the whole group.
Logo en turnos, un xogador puxo unha diadema de cor na cabeza. Un compañeiro, cos ollsa pechados escolleu unha carta do xogo, entregoulla ao xogador e axudouno a colocala na diadema. O xogador tiña que adiviñar o animal facendo preguntas a toda a clase.



Next lesson, they played in small groups during the warm-up . It is a great opportunity not only to evaluate students’ oral expression but also to help and encourage them during the game.
Na seguinte sesión, durante o “período de quecemento”, traballamos en pequenos grupos. Este intre, non só é un bo momento para avaliar a expresión oral dos rapaces, senon que é o momento para axudar e animalos durante o xogo.
