Press Here , one of the three interactive picture books from Hervé Tullet, is a must have for Kindergarten classes because let children’s imagination run wild using only the most basic instruments .

Press Here is a wonderfull opportunity to have a low-tech interactive reading experience with your children and it provides the chance for working with numbers, colours, shapes, sizes as well as stimulate  children’s attencion and develop logical and reasoning skills.

Great book, I’d recommend it!

Press Here version

This book is an amazing source of inspiration for English lessons. I developed some different activities during last term and, even I made my own version in order to introduce the number 1 and reinforce colours and sizes in my 3-year-olds class.

Press Here Collages

A simple coordinating activity of dot collages  was a hit. The kids were very excited to make their own “press here” pages using only dot stikers and a sheet of paper.

INFANTIL/PRESCHOOL, numbers

Counting to four on Sesame Street

Let’s go on learning more numbers in English.
This time,Feist 1234 Sesame Street version will be the best way to enjoy learning the number 4.

Teaching children to write the numbers correctly can be very frustrating for early childhood teachers! As an English teacher, I try to support and complement the work of the teachers in Kindergarten using English in every day learning situations. I teach my students to write the numbers in school using some easy number formation poems created by Heidi Butkus. As she says, the purpose is to give the children a little rhyme to help them remember how to form the numbers correctly. And for me, it is a wonderful opportunity to improve the English language skills.

This is the number  writing poem we are going to use to learn how to write number four:

INFANTIL/PRESCHOOL, PRESCHOOL PROJECTS, The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Song

One of the favorite authors in preschool classrooms is Eric Carle. His colorful illustrations and simple text make these books fun to read again and again.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a very special book!  It’s simple, engaging story and beautiful illustrations capture the imagination and inspire all sorts of creative learning activities. You can use this book to teach many different things: Life cycle of the butterfly, days of the week, food categories, healthy eating habits, counting and many more.

Young children can “read” this books for themselves, too, after hearing or singing it a few times .Here you have our “Caterpillar Song”:

Recycling our English

Board games may be old school but they are great for kids for different reasons. They’re still a super-fun way to teach kids about following rules, taking turns, counting spaces, and accepting rewards and consequences.

In addition, board games offer interactive English language practice in a learner-centered, low-stress environment.

I have designed two easy board games for Level 5 and Level 6 that require the students to produce certain types of expressions, so they practice a variety of vocabulary, grammatical patterns, and functional meanings.

Here you have a ppt about the rules of these board games.

I am sure students will enjoy reviewing and recycling their knowledge of English with these board games.

Greetings

Say “Hello!”

Say “Hello!” to classmates, parents, and friends  with this original hello song from Super Simple Songs.

Saúda aos teus compañeiros, aos teus pais e amigos con esta orixinal canción .

This super simple goodbye song is great for ending any class or play session. It’s very easy to sing along with and learn through gestures, and it ends with 45 seconds of instrumental music to play as children leave the classroom.

Esta canción é fenomenal para rematar calquera sesión pois é moi doada de prender gracias aos xestos que acompañan a letra.
