It’s Christmas time🎄 , so in our English lessons we’ve been reading and working on funny story of what happened to 🎅🏻 Father Christmas one Christmas Eve.
📢 You can listen to it as many times as you want as well as play with this genially created by Olga Pérez Roffes.
Just press the yellow dot, turn the page and follow the instructions. That’s only what you have to do if you want to start a magical journey.
Press Here , one of the three interactive picture books from Hervé Tullet, is a must have for Kindergarten classes because let children’s imagination run wild using only the most basic instruments .
Press Here is a wonderfull opportunity to have a low-tech interactive reading experience with your children and it provides the chance for working with numbers, colours, shapes, sizes as well as stimulate children’s attencion and develop logical and reasoning skills.
Great book, I’d recommend it!
Press Here version
This book is an amazing source of inspiration for English lessons. I developed some different activities during last term and, even I made my own version in order to introduce the number 1 and reinforce colours and sizes in my 3-year-olds class.
Press Here Collages
A simple coordinating activity of dot collages was a hit. The kids were very excited to make their own “press here” pages using only dot stikers and a sheet of paper.
3-year-olds took turns completing colour sequences by placing red, blue, and yellow playing pieces on one of twenty-five fabulously designed game boards.
Let’s go on learning more numbers in English.
This time,Feist 1234 Sesame Street version will be the best way to enjoy learning the number 4.
Teaching children to write the numbers correctly can be very frustrating for early childhood teachers! As an English teacher, I try to support and complement the work of the teachers in Kindergarten using English in every day learning situations. I teach my students to write the numbers in school using some easy number formation poems created by Heidi Butkus. As she says, the purpose is to give the children a little rhyme to help them remember how to form the numbers correctly. And for me, it is a wonderful opportunity to improve the English language skills.
This is the number writing poem we are going to use to learn how to write number four:

Gogo’s five years old….and you….How old are you? Let’s learn the numbers from 1 to ten with Gogo.
How old are you? song by Genkienglish is a popular song amongst little kids. They love jumping and moving while they sing it. Why don’t you try it with this mini lesson?
Check out how these children enjoy it!
Mingle game is a fun way to practise the question “How old are you?” with little kids.
Children have to mingle together and when the chant finishes everybody asks a kid How old are you? . The child responds and everybody has to get into groups of that number and sit down.Take a look at this video.
Last Friday, we could see the first snowflakes falling down. It was an amazing and freezing day!!! So, I decided to take the opportunity to present a new book called “The first day of winter” by Denise Fleming to my kindergarteners which helps us review numbers and colours and introduce some winter clothings.
And here you have a funny song to warm a cold day of winter.Enjoy it!
