Today, our 3, 4 and 5-year-old children enjoyed a lovely group activity based on our own version of the story Handa’s Surprise.
The children worked in teams with a fruit spinner and an empty basket. They took turns to spin the wheel and say the name of the fruit in English. Then they had to put the fruit in the basket. If the fruit was already there, they lost their turn. The first team to complete the basket was the winner.
It was a fun and exciting game, and the children were very engaged. Through this activity, they practised fruit vocabulary, speaking in English, listening carefully, taking turns and working together as a team.

In each session, we are also tasting one fruit from the story. This helps the children connect English with a real experience in a meaningful and enjoyable way. We also use this moment to practise the structure “I like…” in a natural context.
Today it was bananas!
The children tasted bananas and had the opportunity to say “I like bananas” in English.
Activities like this help young children learn in a playful way. By using stories, games, pictures and real objects, they can understand new words more easily and remember them better. They also develop important social skills by sharing, waiting and cooperating with others.
We are very happy to see them learning English through play, stories and hands
