In 2nd Grade, we worked on a lovely English activity about animals.
The children chose two of their favourite animals. Then, they planned their ideas and wrote short descriptions in English. They used simple sentences to say what the animals are like, their colours and what they can do.
This activity helped the children take their first steps in writing in English. At this age, it is important to start writing with topics they know and enjoy. Animals are fun, familiar and motivating for them.
En 2º de Primaria realizamos unha actividade de inglés sobre os animais. O alumnado escolleu dous dos seus animais favoritos, planificou as súas ideas e escribiu pequenas descricións en inglés empregando frases sinxelas.
Before writing, we practised vocabulary with pictures, games and speaking activities. This helped the children feel more confident.
Antes de escribir, practicamos vocabulario con imaxes, xogos e actividades orais para gañar seguridade. Con esta actividade iniciámonos na escritura en lingua inglesa dun xeito divertido, próximo e motivador.
The most important thing was not to write perfect texts, but to try, enjoy and use English to express their own ideas.
