Today, in our 2nd grade English class, we did a very special activity to practise the structures “It can” and “It can’t” using animals.
Hoxe, na clase de inglés de 2º de Primaria, realizamos unha actividade moi especial para traballar as estruturas “It can” e “It can’t” a través dos animais.
We used a Genially digital resource that allowed the children to look at different animals and create simple sentences in English, such as: “It can fly”, “It can swim” or “It can’t jump.”
Empregamos un recurso dixital en Genially co que o alumnado puido observar distintos animais e crear frases sinxelas en inglés, como por exemplo: “It can fly”, “It can swim” ou “It can’t jump”.
It is also an activity designed following the principles of UDL (Universal Design for Learning), so that all pupils can take part, understand and make progress according to their own needs. The activity offers different ways to access information and visual support, helping every child participate with confidence.
Ademais, trátase dunha actividade deseñada para que todo o alumnado poida participar e aprender segundo as súas necesidades. A proposta ofrece diferentes formas de acceso á información e apoios visuais, permitindo que cada neno e cada nena poida achegarse á actividade con confianza.
Through this activity, the children practised grammar in a much more visual, dynamic and motivating way. Instead of working only with worksheets or repetitive exercises, they learned by doing, observing, thinking and creating their own sentences.
A través desta proposta, os nenos e nenas practicaron a gramática dun xeito moito máis visual, dinámico e motivador. En lugar de traballar só con fichas ou exercicios repetitivos, puideron aprender facendo, observando, pensando e construíndo as súas propias oracións.


Working on grammar in this way has many benefits. It helps pupils understand structures better because they use them in a real and meaningful context. Also, when language is connected to animal vocabulary, learning becomes more natural and easier to remember.
Traballar a gramática así ten moitos beneficios. Axuda ao alumnado a comprender mellor as estruturas porque as usa nun contexto real e significativo. Ademais, ao relacionar a lingua co vocabulario dos animais, a aprendizaxe resulta máis natural e máis fácil de lembrar.
Another very important aspect is motivation. Visual and interactive resources catch their attention and encourage active participation. When children are involved, they learn with more enthusiasm and build confidence little by little.
Outro aspecto moi importante é a motivación. Os recursos visuais e interactivos espertan o seu interese e favorecen a participación activa. Cando o alumnado está implicado, aprende con máis ganas e gaña confianza pouco a pouco.


This type of activity also helps respect different learning rhythms, as it offers visual support and makes understanding easier. In this way, grammar is no longer seen as something abstract, but as a useful tool for communication.
Este tipo de actividades tamén permite respectar os diferentes ritmos de aprendizaxe, xa que ofrece apoio visual e facilita a comprensión. Así, a gramática deixa de verse como algo abstracto e convértese nunha ferramenta útil para comunicarse.
In our classroom, we continue to use active, playful and meaningful activities, where English is learned in a natural and experiential way. Because learning can also be fun.
Na aula seguimos apostando por propostas activas, lúdicas e significativas, nas que o inglés se aprende de forma natural e vivencial. Porque aprender tamén pode ser divertido.
