Coming back to school after a holiday can be a little difficult. Children need to remember the rules, the routines and the classroom rhythm again. That is why starting with fun activities is a great idea.
That is what we did today in Year 1 English.
We revised some of the contents we worked on before Easter. We reviewed toy vocabulary and practised saying the names using the structure “It’s a…”. We also practised asking and answering questions with “Is it a…?”, “Yes, it is” and “No, it isn’t”.
To make the revision more fun, we used different games:
Kaboom, I spy, Guess the toy and Roll and find.

Na sesión de hoxe, o alumnado de 1º de Primaria repasou de forma lúdica o vocabulario dos xoguetes e estruturas básicas en inglés como It’s a… e Is it a…? A través de xogos como Kaboom, I spy, Guess the toy e Roll and find, retomamos a rutina despois das vacacións dun xeito motivador, dinámico e divertido.
These activities helped the children remember vocabulary, practise speaking in English and enjoy the lesson at the same time. Playing is a very effective way to learn, especially after a holiday break.

It was a lovely way to go back to our English routine with energy, motivation and smiles.
Fun and learning in equal parts!

Estas actividades serviron para recuperar hábitos de aula, reforzar a expresión oral, afianzar contidos xa traballados e volver ao ritmo de traballo de forma progresiva e amena.
