Our 5th graders played a new cooperative game in English class called “The Possessive Spell”
The goal was to use possessive ’s and possessive adjectives ( his, her, our, their) while having fun!
Students worked in small groups and took turns picking two magic cards from a chest — one with a character (Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, the twins…) and one with a magic object (wand, cat, broom, book, owl, cloak…).
Then, they made sentences like: “This is Hermione’s cat. It’s her cat.”
If the sentence was correct, the team earned 1 Galleon. At the end, the group with the most Galleons became the Winners of the Magic Chest
Objective:
To practice possessive structures in an engaging, communicative way while developing cooperation and creativity.
Teamwork & Fun Learning:
Students learned from each other, corrected mistakes together, and used English in real, playful situations — discovering that grammar can also be a game full of magic!
O alumnado de 5º de Primaria xogou esta semana a un novo xogo cooperativo en inglés chamado “The Possessive Spell”
O obxectivo foi practicar o xenitivo saxón e os adxectivos posesivos ( his, her, our, their) de forma divertida.
En pequenos grupos, sacaron dúas tarxetas dun baúl máxico: unha cun personaxe (Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, os xemelgos…) e outra cun obxecto máxico (wand, cat, broom, book, owl, cloak…).
Logo tiñan que crear frases como: “This is Hermione’s cat. It’s her cat.”
Se a frase era correcta, o grupo gañaba 1 Galleon . Ao final, o grupo con máis Galleons converteuse nos gañadores do Baúl Máxico.
Obxectivo:
Practicar as estruturas posesivas de forma comunicativa, cooperativa e lúdica.
Aprendizaxe cooperativa e divertida:
O alumnado aprendeu uns dos outros, corrixíronse e expresáronse en inglés en situacións reais e de xogo, descubrindo que a gramática tamén pode ser un xogo cheo de maxia!
