WORLD MISSION 5: ART GALLERY GUIDE

The end of the school year in Level 4 was really awesome.

In this last mission, students learnt about different types of portraits, such as self-portraits, abstract portraits or profile portraits. They discovered the artworks of some famous artists like Picasso, Sargent or Renoir and compared their painting styles. They were impressed with the Picasso’s abstract portraits so they decided to imitate his portraits.Their portraits were so stunning that we organized an abstract portrait exhibition.

O fin do curso en 4º foi realmente asombroso. Nesta derradeira misión, os rapaces aprenderon sobre retratos e descubriron as obras de pintores como Picasso, Sargent o Renoir. Compararon os seus estilos pero quedaron tan impresionados cos retratos abstractos de Picasso que decidiron imitalos. Crearon unha obras de arte tan increíbles que decidimos organizar unha exposición no centro.

World Mission 5 had four levels:

Level 1: Draw a Picasso face

Roll a dice and draw a Picasso face following this instructions:

• Roll the die to see which face, eyes, nose, mouth, hair style and other things you should add to your Picasso painting!
• Roll twice to choose two eyes.
• You have some free option to do yourself.
• Finally, add lines, shapes and color to complete your own Pablo Picasso portrait.

Os rapaces realizaron o debuxo da cara lanzando un dado e seguindo as instrucións recollidas na tarxeta Roll Game. Completaron a súa obra de arte pintando o retrato con cores brillantes e realizaron o fondo empregando témpera sólida ou acuarelas.

Level 2: Write a draft describing your abstract portrait.

Using the grammatical structures and the vocabulary worked previously on this unit, they wrote a draft describing the portraits. It was a great opportunity to improve and learn new words.

Empregando as estruturas e o vocabulario traballado nesta unidade, preparanron unha descripción do seu retrato. Foi unha boa ocasión para ampliar o vocabulario.

Level 3: Prepare your work of art for the art exhibition.

We organized an exhibition with information about each masterpice.

Preparamos unha exposición coas obras realizadas as que engadimos as descripcións para que os visitantes tiveran información das obras.

Level 4: Create an art gallery audio guide

In order to share our work, we wanted to go a step further and desing a multimedia audio guide to visit our exhibition. Enjoy it!
