Hogwarts Mission 4: At the Restaurant is back!

This year, students in Level 4 did Mission 4: At the Restaurant again.

We did this mission in 2024 too, and students loved it. So, this year we wanted to do it again!

In this mission, students worked in pairs. They created a menu and practised a dialogue in a restaurant.

Nesta Mission 4: At the Restaurant, o alumnado de Level 4 volveu realizar unha das actividades que máis lle gustara no ano 2024.Nesta misión, traballaron por parellas para crear o seu propio menú dun restaurante e preparar un pequeno diálogo en inglés. Un alumno ou alumna facía de camareiro/a e outro/a de cliente.

Step 1: The menu

First, students made their own restaurant menu.

They chose:

the food,
the drinks,
and the prices.

They were very creative!

Step 2: The dialogue

Then, students wrote a short dialogue.

One student was the waiter or waitress.
The other student was the customer.

They practised sentences like:

What’s on the menu today?
Can I have a pizza, please?
How much is it?
Here you are.
Thank you.
Enjoy your meal.

Step 3: The final version

After that, students checked their work and wrote the final version.

They also finished their menus.

Step 4: Role-play time!

Finally, students acted out the dialogue in class.

They used their menus and spoke in English.

They did a great job!

Ao longo da actividade, practicaron expresións sinxelas para pedir comida, preguntar prezos e responder con educación, como Can I have…?, How much is it?, Here you are ou Thank you.

Finalmente, representaron o diálogo diante da clase usando os seus menús. Foi unha actividade moi divertida e significativa, na que empregaron o inglés nunha situación real.
