Our 3rd grade students have completed a new magical challenge in English with Hogwarts Mission 3: The Secret Map Adventure. In this mission, they helped Harry and Ron look for the Marauder’s Map to save Ginny from the Chamber of Secrets. As part of the adventure, the children created a model of a magical city, town or village and described it in English.
During this mission, they followed different steps to complete their work: first they planned their ideas, then they wrote a draft, created the final version, and finally presented their project to the class. In this way, they worked on important language skills such as writing, speaking, listening, and reading, while also developing creativity, confidence, and oral expression.
The main topic of this mission was magical places and towns. The students worked on vocabulary related to places in a town or city and used simple descriptive structures in English to explain their model and talk about its different parts.
After the presentations, the children also completed a peer assessment of their classmates’ work. This helped them listen carefully, value each other’s ideas, and reflect on what makes a good presentation.
This mission also helped them understand that learning includes a process: thinking, planning, creating, improving, and sharing their work with others.
As a final reward for completing the mission, the children earned 6 coins for their Progress Journal.
Nesta misión de 3º de primaria, o alumnado creou unha maqueta dunha cidade, vila ou pobo máxico e describiuna en inglés. Ao longo do proceso, traballaron a planificación, a escritura, a expresión oral, a lectura e a escoita, ademais de vocabulario relacionado cos lugares da cidade e estruturas sinxelas para facer descricións. Despois das presentacións, tamén realizaron unha avaliación entre iguais para valorar os traballos dos compañeiros e compañeiras. Como recompensa final, conseguiron 6 moedas para o seu Progress Journal.
