In our English class, we have been learning vocabulary through fun and active games. Before playing, we practised the words orally, and the students made their own flashcards. This made the activity even more meaningful and motivating for them.
1.Jump and say!
One of the games was a jumping challenge. The vocabulary cards were placed on the floor, and the students had to jump on them and say each word aloud. One classmate used a stopwatch to time each turn. The winner was the fastest student. It was a great way to practise vocabulary, pronunciation and speaking fluency. It also helped us introduce the idea of superlatives in a simple and natural way, using expressions such as the fastest.
2.Stone, paper, scissors vocabulary race
We also played a very exciting team game based on stone, paper, scissors. The class was divided into two teams, with one team on each side of the cards. Students moved forward by jumping on the flashcards and saying the words aloud. When two players met, they played rock, paper, scissors. The winner continued moving forward, while the loser went back to the end of the line and a new teammate started. The first team to reach the end of the cards won the game.
These games turned vocabulary practice into a fun learning experience. The students were active, engaged and eager to participate, and they practised not only vocabulary, but also pronunciation, speed, attention and teamwork.

As actividades transformaron o repaso do vocabulario nunha experiencia divertida e colaborativa.
