During this spooky week, our students took part in a Halloween Breakout, a cooperative game inspired by Hotel Transylvania.
Their mission was to solve different challenges and find the magic key to open the Great Hall and start the Halloween party!
In the English classroom, students faced the challenge called “Mavis’ Pumpkin Puzzle.”
The wicked witch had hidden an important clue, and everyone had to work together to find it!
- The younger children put faces on pumpkins (happy, sad, scared, angry, hungry…) following simple instructions in English.
- The older students had to match mixed-up pumpkins — some with pictures and others with words — to practise Halloween vocabulary.
After matching all the pairs correctly, they had to decode a secret message that led them to the hidden clue.
Finally, after working together and thinking carefully, they found the clue under the witch’s hat!
Objectives of the activity:
- To encourage teamwork and cooperation.
- To practise English listening and reading comprehension through simple instructions.
- To learn and use vocabulary about Halloween, colours and emotions.
- To enjoy learning English in a fun and creative way.
It was a magical and funny experience where English became the language of witches, pumpkins and ghosts!
Durante esta semana tan especial, o noso alumnado participou nun Breakout de Samaín, unha actividade cooperativa inspirada no Hotel Transilvania.
O obxectivo era superar diferentes misións e atopar a chave máxica que abría o Gran Salón para celebrar a festa de Samaín/Halloween.
Na aula de inglés, os nenos e nenas tiveron que superar o reto “Mavis’ Pumpkin Puzzle”.
A bruxa malvada escondera unha pista moi importante, e todos tiveron que traballar xuntos para atopala!
- Os máis pequenos puxéronlle caras ás cabazas (happy, sad, scared, angry, hungry…) seguindo instrucións sinxelas en inglés.
- Os máis maiores tiveron que emparellar cabazas desordenadas, unhas con imaxes e outras con palabras, para traballar o vocabulario de Halloween.
Unha vez emparelladas correctamente, tiveron que descifrar unha mensaxe secreta que lles indicou onde estaba agochada a pista.
Ao final, entre risas e emoción, descubriron que a pista estaba baixo o sombreiro da bruxa.
Obxectivos da actividade:
- Fomentar o traballo en equipo e a cooperación.
- Desenvolver a comprensión oral e lectora en inglés.
- Traballar o léxico de Halloween, das emocións e das cores.
- Aprender inglés de maneira significativa, lúdica e creativa.
Foi unha experiencia chea de maxia e diversión, onde o inglés se converteu na lingua das bruxas, das cabazas e das pantasmas!
