The Gringotts Quest – Our Magic Shopping Mission!

Our 4th-grade students joined a magical adventure in Diagon Alley. Grimbald, a goblin from Gringotts Bank, asked them to help find missing magical items in wizard shops. To do this, they had to use English to ask questions, write dialogues, and act like real wizards and witches.

Objectives of the Mission

  • Use vocabulary about shops, prices, and magical objects.
  • Practise the questions:
    Have you got…?
How much is it / are they?
  • Use simple expressions like:
I want the magic wand, please.
Here you are! / Thank you!
  • Speak and write in English with confidence.
  • Collaborate in pairs to create a short scene.

Mission Steps

  1. Get a magic shop card with 3 objects (2 real, 1 not in the shop).
  2. Work in pairs: one student is the shopper, the other is the shop assistant.
  3. Write a short dialogue using the card and your own ideas.
  4. Act it out with costume or props and record your scene.
  5. Find all the missing objects to unlock the Magic Key and continue the adventure!

Why drama helps us learn

Using drama in the classroom is powerful. It helps students:

  • Feel more confident speaking English
  • Use English in real situations
  • Be creative with words and expressions
  • Listen, cooperate and have fun
  • Remember better through movement and role-play

Our students enjoyed acting out their lines. Some even brought costumes and props! They used a camera to record videos, like real actors. They were focused and proud of their work!
