Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons: A Fun Learning Experience!
This week, our preschool students had a fantastic time learning English with the story Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons! This fun and colorful book helped us explore colors, numbers, and even subtraction in an exciting way.
Esta semana, os nosos alumnos de educación infantil gozaron aprendendo inglés co conto Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons! Este libro divertido e cheo de cor axudounos a explorar as cores, os números e mesmo a resta dunha maneira emocionante.
Puppet Craft Activity
After reading the story together, the children created their own Pete the Cat puppets. This activity helped develop their fine motor skills as they carefully punched and glued different elements. They felt very proud of their creations, which motivated them to participate enthusiastically in the shared reading activity.
Despois de ler a historia xuntos, os nenos crearon as súas propias marionetas de Pete the Cat. Esta actividade axudou a desenvolver a súa motricidade fina mentres picaban e pegaban diferentes elementos. Sentíronse moi orgullosos das súas creacións, o que os motivou a participar con entusiasmo na lectura compartida.
Shared Reading
Next, we did a shared reading activity. The students took turns repeating key phrases from the story. This helped them improve their speaking skills and build confidence in using English.
The students also love singing the song from the story! The catchy tune makes learning even more enjoyable and helps reinforce key vocabulary in a fun and engaging way.
A continuación, realizamos unha actividade de lectura compartida. Os estudantes tomaron quendas para repetir frases clave da historia. Isto axudounos a mellorar as súas habilidades orais e a gañar confianza no uso do inglés.
Os alumnos tamén adoran cantar a canción do conto! A súa pegadiza melodía fai que a aprendizaxe sexa aínda máis divertida e axuda a reforzar o vocabulario clave dunha maneira entretida e atractiva.
Team Game: Kaboom!
We also played a team game called Kaboom! The children were in mixed-age teams, where older students helped the younger ones. Before giving an answer, the older children shared their thoughts with their teammates. This way, everyone participated and worked together! The game reinforced vocabulary and speaking skills while promoting teamwork and cooperation.
Tamén xogamos a un xogo por equipos chamado Kaboom! Os nenos organizáronse en equipos de diferentes idades, onde os maiores axudaban aos máis pequenos. Antes de dar unha resposta, os máis maiores compartían as súas ideas co equipo. Deste xeito, todos participaron e traballaron xuntos! O xogo reforzou o vocabulario e as habilidades orais, ao tempo que fomentaba o traballo en equipo e a colaboración.
It was a wonderful experience, and our little learners had so much fun! We can’t wait for our next adventure in English learning!
