Mission 1: The Daily Prophet’s Hogwarts Student Profile

Welcome to the magical world of our 5th-grade Hogwarts class! For our first mission, called “The Daily Prophet’s Hogwarts Student Profile”, we worked together to create magical profiles of each student in our class. Let us tell you about our amazing adventure!

Benvidos ao máxico mundo da nosa clase de 5º de primaria en Hogwarts! Na nosa primeira misión, chamada “O Perfil do Estudante de Hogwarts do Daily Prophet”, traballamos xuntos para crear perfís máxicos de cada estudante da clase. Deixádenos contarvos sobre esta incrible aventura!

Step 1: Preparation and Planning

Before starting the mission, we had a practice activity to learn how to write and talk about personal information. We presented an example profile to understand what information was needed and how to organize it. Then, using this information, we completed a small descriptive text to practice writing skills.We explored questions like:

  • What is your name?
  • How old are you?
  • Where are you from?
  • What are your favourite hobbies?
  • Have you got any brothers or sisters?

Antes de comezar a misión, realizamos unha actividade previa para aprender a escribir e falar sobre información persoal. Presentamos un exemplo de perfil para entender que información era necesaria e como organizala. Despois, usando esta información, completamos un pequeno texto descritivo para practicar as nosas habilidades de escritura. Exploramos preguntas como:

  • Como te chamas?
  • Cantos anos tes?
  • Calés son os teus pasatempos favoritos?
  • Cal é a túa materia máxica favorita?

Step 2: Interviewing a Partner

Each student was paired with a classmate to interview them. We asked fun questions to learn more about each other and wrote down the answers. It was exciting to discover interesting things about our Hogwarts friends!

Cada estudante formou parella cun compañeiro para entrevistalo. Fixemos preguntas divertidas para aprender máis uns dos outros e anotamos as respostas. Foi emocionante descubrir cousas interesantes sobre os nosos amigos de Hogwarts!

Step 3: Creating a Draft

Using a model, we wrote a draft of the student profiles. We included the information from the interviews and made sure it was clear and creative.

Usando un modelo, escribimos un borrador dos perfís dos estudantes. Incluímos a información das entrevistas e asegurámonos de que fose clara e creativa. Algúns de nós incluso engadimos detalles máxicos, como os nosos feitizos favoritos ou as nosas casas de Hogwarts!

Step 4: Final Profile and Presentation

After checking our drafts, we made the final version of the profiles. Then, we presented them to the class! Everyone spoke confidently and shared their amazing profiles. The profiles were displayed on our class “Daily Prophet” board for everyone to see.

Despois de revisar os borradores, fixemos a versión final dos perfís. Logo, presentámolos á clase! Todos falaron con confianza e compartiron os seus perfís incribles. Os perfís expuxéronse no taboleiro do “Daily Prophet” da clase para que todos puidesen velos.

Step 5: Peer Evaluation

In groups, we evaluated the presentations using a special rubric. We focused on some aspects such as:

  • Pronunciation
  • Fluency
  • Body language
  • Clarity
  • Information shared

Each group also gave a positive comment and a suggestion for improvement. This helped us learn from each other and improve our skills.

En grupos, avaliamos as presentacións usando unha rúbrica especial. Concentrámonos en algúns aspectos como:

  • Pronunciación
  • Fluidez
  • Linguaxe corporal
  • Claridade
  • Información compartida

Cada grupo tamén deu un comentario positivo e unha suxestión para mellorar. Isto axudounos a aprender uns dos outros e mellorar as nosas habilidades.

Why This Activity Was Magical

This mission helped us practice speaking and writing in English in a fun way. We learned how to describe people, ask questions, and share ideas. The peer evaluation was very helpful because we learned from feedback and supported our friends. Activities like this make learning exciting and help us work as a team.

At the end of the mission, we earned the “Key of Perseverance” as a reward for our hard work. We are ready for the next magical adventure!

Esta misión axudounos a practicar falar e escribir en inglés dun xeito divertido. Aprendemos a describir persoas, facer preguntas e compartir ideas. A avaliación por compañeiros foi moi útil porque aprendemos co feedback e apoiamos aos nosos amigos. Actividades como esta fan que aprender sexa emocionante e axúdannos a traballar en equipo.

Ao final da misión, gañamos a “Chave da Perseveranza” como recompensa polo noso gran esforzo. Estamos listos para a próxima aventura máxica!
