As we kick off our school year, we’ve been working on a fun activity to help students get back into English while building confidence in speaking and sharing about themselves. Our activity, called “All About Me,” has been an exciting way for students to express their personality and learn more about each other through English!
Para comezar o curso de maneira divertida e fortalecer os coñecementos de inglés dos nosos estudantes, realizamos unha actividade chamada “All About Me”. Este proxecto foi ideal para que os alumnos practiquen o idioma, exprésense e coñézanse entre eles, todo nun ambiente de creatividade e aprendizaxe!
Step 1: Warming Up with Oral Games
To get everyone comfortable, we started with some oral games. These activities gave the students a chance to practice speaking about familiar topics—favorite things—while also listening to their classmates. The games helped refresh key vocabulary and sentences while adding a bit of fun and teamwork!
Antes de comezar co proxecto principal, realizamos algúns xogos orais. Estas dinámicas axudaron aos estudantes para soltarse e practicar como falar sobre temas coñecidos, como os seus gustos e os seus intereses, todo en inglés. Así, refrescamos vocabulario básico e frases útiles, preparándoos para falar sobre si mesmos dunha maneira natural e divertida.
Step 2: Creating Our “All About Me” Camera Craft
The main activity, All About Me, was a hands-on project where students created a “camera” craft. Each student prepared their own camera, but the real fun was in the “film roll.” The film roll unrolls to show various frames where students filled in personal information like their name, age, favorite color, toy, and more. Each “snapshot” on the film strip represented a part of who they are!
This creative way of sharing allowed the students to introduce themselves while practicing English and connecting with classmates. The result? A colorful, interactive display that helped everyone feel part of our class community.
O proxecto central, All About Me, consistiu nunha manualidade na que cada estudante deseñou a súa propia “cámara fotográfica.” Dentro da cámara, os nenos crearon un “carrete fotográfico” que se desenrola e no cal engadiron diferentes datos persoais. En cada “fotograma” do carrete, os estudantes incluíron información como o seu nome, idade, cor favorita, …….. Cada imaxe representaba un aspecto único da súa personalidade. Este formato creativo permitiulles aos estudantes presentarse de maneira visual e oral, practicando inglés e conectando cos seus compañeiros a través dos seus intereses e gustos.
Why This Activity?
All About Me isn’t just a creative activity; it reinforces language skills by encouraging students to speak, write, and present in English. They practiced sentence formation, descriptive words, and common phrases about themselves—making it easier for them to communicate about personal topics in English.
It’s been a wonderful start to the year, and we can’t wait to see how these budding English speakers grow!
A actividade de All About Me non só é divertida e artística, senón que tamén reforza as habilidades lingüísticas en inglés. Os estudantes practicaron a formación de frases, o uso de adxectivos descritivos e expresións sobre eles mesmos, gañando confianza para comunicarse en inglés.
Con esta actividade, damos a benvida a un ano cheo de aprendizaxe e compañeirismo, e non podemos esperar a ver como estes pequenos grandes talentos seguen desenvolvéndose en inglés!
