3º ciclo, Endangered animals brief project, What do you know about animals?

Endangered animals first presentations

Today. two children from Level 6 showed us what they had found out about their favourite endangered animals. They prepared a Powerpoint presentation to illustrate their oral presentation. Congratulations…Good job!!!

At first, they were afraid of not doing a good job, but little by little, they gained confidence and, finally, they  enjoyed the activity. As always, this type of activity also allowed us to check, learn and improve.

We are looking foward to enjoying the other classmates’ presentations.

Estamos desexando ver as seguintes presentacións.

3º ciclo, Endangered animals brief project, My favourite animal, What do you know about animals?

Endangered animals

Do you know that there are many endangered animals all over the world? What’s that?

animation2

Endangered animals are animals in danger of extinction. An animal is considered endangered  when there are very few of them alive.

In the history of our planet lots of cretaures have disappeared, such as dinosaurs. During the age of dinosaurs, only 1 species became extinct, but, nowadays, the problem is much more worrisome because the number of endangered animals is closer to 40,000 species per year.

Most of the extinctions are caused by people, due to indiscriminated hunting or  environmental destruction. If you want to know more about the different causes of animals extinction, click on the picture. 2016-01-17_1302

The more we know about this problem, the more we can do to save the endangered animals.

And if you want to know more about the reasons these animals are in danger, here you have a fun and easy way to learn more about them.

Why don’t we prepare an illustrated endangered animals encyclopedia? I’m sure that it will be an amazing activity. So that, take a look at this website and choose your favourite endangered animal. Take notes on the most relevant information such as, name, adult size and weigth, habitat, food, the reasons why it is in danger of extinction…..Click on the link below and start working!!!!!!!
