Valantine’s Day is here and our polar bear is in love!
This is one of the most famous winter celebration so, we decided to involve Valantine’s Day in our winter project. We celebrated it in class with some cute artcrafts.
Winter is here, and with it comes an opportunity to incorporate meaningful winter activities in our classrooms!
I’m excited to share with you some amazing winter themed resources for your classroom! Here you have some activities to introduce this topic in kindergarten.
WINTER LITERACY ACTIVITY
Read!
Children love Eric Carle’s books because his books always offer children the opportunity to learn something about the world around them through simple stories and wonderful illustrations.
Below is an adapted book based on Eric Carle’s “Polar Bear. What do you hear?”. Upon reading, learners can identify animals, winter activities and numbers.
Get ready to roll, slide, clap and bounce in this winter snowman brain break and movement activity “Snowman Dance”. Kids movement activity for winter and January music and movement activities by Sandra at Sing Play Create.
WINTER MATH ACTIVITIES
Make practicing visual discrimination and counting lots of fun with this winter themed activity
A great snowflake crafts for kids are simply by buttons, take a sheet of cardboard, carve it out in the shape of a snowflake, stick a white sheet to it, then just stick some beautiful button to it or the glittered buttons
WINTER SONGS
Little Snowflake brings together the same team that created the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star video to tell a short story of a snowman brought to life by the magic and beauty of snowfall. As he tries to ice skate, he learns the value of perseverance and teamwork. Along the way, we get to learn and review parts of the body (head, nose, hand). I hope you love it!
Winter is about to finish and I don’t want to say it goodbaye without looking back over the last month and remembering some significant moments we have spent working on our Winter Project.
This topic was explored through songs, games and art crafts which allowed them to learn a lot of things related to this season (clothes, weather, instructions, numbers, colours, feelings,..) in an easy and fun way.
And there’s nothing like a snowball fight with them to put a giant smile on their faces.
Here you have a brief summary of our project.
Comprobado!!!!!
It’s winter time! It’s too cold outside to play with the snow without winter clothes. Do you wear your hat, coat, scarf and jacket? And what about your boots?
Listen, get dressed and let’s play snow war!
Here you have an easy song that you can incorporate actions into to make it funnier from teachermama.org

Our first experience working with lim was a success. Before working with computers, my children worked in pair on the interactive board in order to know how lim works. To my surprise ,they learned quickly how to work with this web tool . It was an awesome experience. We’ll repeat this experience soon.
Snow(1998 Parents’ Choice Recommended)
Written and Illustrated by Uri Shulevitz
Farrar Straus & Giroux
Ages 3 – 7
“It’s snowing, said boy with dog.” “It’s only a snowflake,” said grandfather with beard.”
The sky is grey and it is very cold but, as snowflakes slowly come down, one by one, people in the city ignore them.Only a boy and his dog believe that it is going to snow.
Children love snow and this book really shows us how they trully enjoy a spectacular snowfall. This is a book about the weather and the joy it can bring.
After reading this wonderfull book, why don’t we sing this song? Along the way, children get learn and review parts of the body.
Little Snowflake Lyrics:
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling…falling on my head.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling…falling on my nose.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Little snowflake falling from the sky.
Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
Falling, falling, falling, falling, falling,
falling, falling, falling, falling…falling in my hand.
Falling on my head.
Falling on my nose.
Falling in my hand.
